The development is located on the site of a former industrial area, and its design was inspired by the traditional shikumen buildings that once stood in the area.
The shikumen were four-story brick rowhouses that were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were characterized by their narrow facades, deep courtyards, and distinctive red brickwork.
The new development pays homage to the shikumen by incorporating many of their traditional elements into its design. Designed to complement the towers, the four-storey retail podium visually ties the various elements together.

The Rosewood Hotel is the centerpiece of the development. The hotel is located on the upper levels of the tallest tower, and it offers stunning views of the Huangpu River, the West Bund, and Suzhou Creek. Spas, swimming pools, gyms, bars and restaurants are just a few of the luxurious amenities available at the Rosewood Hotel.
Huaxing New Town is a major new development that is transforming the Suzhou Creek CBD. The project is a mix of old and new, and it is designed to create a vibrant and sustainable urban environment.
